Redcue — Support

Last updated 31 August 2026

Redcue is a remote control for OBS Studio. It has no server and no account: your phone talks directly to a copy of OBS running on your own network.

Contact

Email support@dadmadeanapp.com. Include your iOS version, your OBS Studio version, and what you were doing when it went wrong. If the app is connected, Settings › Data can export a log you can attach — it contains the addresses you connected to and no passwords.

What you need

Setting up OBS

OBS ships with its WebSocket server switched off. Turn it on once:

  1. In OBS, open Tools › WebSocket Server Settings.
  2. Tick Enable WebSocket server.
  3. Click Show Connect Info and leave it open — it has the address, the port, the password, and a QR code.
  4. In Redcue, tap Find OBS, or scan that QR code, or type the address by hand.

Redcue cannot find OBS

It connects and then drops

Usually the computer sleeping, or Wi-Fi power saving on the phone. Set the computer to never sleep while streaming. Redcue reconnects on its own when the machine comes back.

Wrong password

The password is the one in OBS's Show Connect Info, not your computer's login. It changes if you regenerate it in OBS — save the connection again after that. Redcue stores it in the iOS Keychain, and Settings › Data deletes every saved connection and password.

The tip jar

Every feature in Redcue is free. Settings › Tip the developer offers three one-time purchases that unlock nothing and gate nothing. There is no subscription and nothing to cancel. Because tips are consumable purchases, Apple does not restore them and the app has no Restore Purchases button. For a refund, use Apple's reportaproblem.apple.com — purchases are made through Apple, not through us.

Privacy

Redcue collects nothing. See the privacy policy.
